Knows a lot about space. Grew up with a single father who was always moving from port to port. One day he never came back. She still isn't sure who he was running from, but she waited a while then found work as an assistant navigator for an outer rim freighter.
Has an eidetic memory, an uncanny sense of how to calculate safe routes through uncharted space, and the total disregard for her own life enough to use both constantly exploring weird ass parts of the unknown regions. Has smuggled almost everything, knows at least three abandoned pirate bases in wild space no one else has found in a thousand years, and has definitely been tagged by the first order as a republic spy several times on her trips to what she thought were new places to hide out temporarily.

Nightbrother probably stolen by the first order at some point in his childhood - he was older than they usually went and non-human, but with his obvious force sensitivity and servile attitude they threw him on special projects and called it a day. No self esteem to speak of. Slightly violent. Basically a grown ass man with the temperament of a stray kitten. Maybe gonna be my space rissie so I can fuck up his life more. I wanna cut off at least a limb on this child.
Pretty much able to be bullied into doing anything for the First Order. Desperately eager to please, completely unaware how rare force sensitivity is in the rest of the galaxy, and probably going to cry a little if you yell at him.

Joined the republic navy to live up to the model set by her parent who was an imp ace. Due to disarmament and her timing didn't see a hell of a lot of combat. Got tired of being an unknown, ran off to the resistance. Not actually as good a pilot as her parent. Doesn't wanna hear it.
Leon Morlo -clandestineness
Young junior senator from corulag. Idealistic but dismayed by the new republics proxy war. Raised on stories of how much better things were in the empire, when there was order and peace. Thinks the rebels should have tried to fix the system from within instead of destroying it and remaking it in the corrupt image of the reasons the original republic failed.
Aww bb. Definitely actually a first order sympathizer, uses diplomatic missions as a cover. Parents died? shortly after the civil war ended, during fighting that ensued between the imperial remnants on corulag and republic troops. Adopted by a wealthy, politically connected family as good publicity.
